WiDF Reception at S3
Join the Women in Deep Foundations
(WiDF) Committee for a networking
reception at S3: Slopes, Support and
Stabilization in Aurora, Colorado, on
Tuesday, August 6, from 5:30 p.m. -
7:00 p.m. This fundraiser is always a
great way to start the conference. Enjoy
a cocktail reception with a premium
open bar and hors d'oeuvres while
supporting the Women in Deep
Foundations Fund and celebrating the
committee's 10th anniversary.

Trust Events at DFI49
The annual conference is the biggest DFI
event each year. It's also a big fundraising
event for the Trust. Consider
sponsoring one, two or all three Trust
events at DFI's 49th Annual Conference
in Aurora, Colorado, October 7-10. The
Hal Hunt Lecture and the 5K Fun
Run/Walk both benefit the Trust
General Fund, providing scholarships to
students pursuing careers in the deep
foundations engineering and construction
industry. The Women in Deep
Foundations (WiDF) Committee Networking
Reception benefits the Women
in Deep Foundations Fund.
New Jersey Golf Outing

The ACE Mentor Program of New Jersey
and DFI Educational Trust are hosting
the 13th annual golf outing fundraiser
on Monday, August 12, at Lake Mohawk
Golf Club in Sparta, New Jersey.
Proceeds from the outing fund scholarships
for students interested in pursuing
college studies in engineering or
construction management. Register at

California Golf Outing
Save the date for the California Golf
Outing on Friday, September 6, at
Dublin Ranch Golf Course in Dublin,
California. This annual event raises
78 * DEEP FOUNDATIONS * JULY/AUG 2024
significant funds for the Trust's General
Fund to support scholarships as well as
outreach efforts to increase student's
awareness of the career opportunities
in the design and construction of deep

Back to New York
The Trust's Annual Gala is heading
back to New York. Plan to join us on
Thursday, November 14, at Terrace
On The Park in Corona. Proceeds from
this event benefit the recently announced
William F. Loftus Memorial
Scholarship Fund. The event previously
benefitted the following funds:
Clyde N. Baker, J r. Foundat ion
Engineering Scholarship Fund, Stanley
Merjan City College of New York Civil
Engineering Scholarship Fund and
George J. Tamaro Manhattan College
Civil Engineering Scholarship Fund.

Scholarship Recipients
Two students recently received scholarship
awards from the Trust's Menard
Carnegie Mellon University Fund.
Aurora Fuchs and Justin Peng are both
civil and environmental engineering
students. Fuchs is a sophomore and is
interested in geotechnical and structural
engineering. She is considering pursuing
a master's degree. Peng completed his
bachelor's degree in civil engineering
and is currently pursuing his master's.
