Future interactive sessions are planned
by WiDF in 2022, with these, and the
webinars of Groundwork and the
chapter's CFA workshop, available on
the DFI India YouTube channel,
accessible from the homepage at
www.dfi-india.org.
Offshore structures and monopiles networking session
weekend presentations and panel
discussions, with conference and
networking sessions successfully
conducted through DFI USA's new data
management systems. Those weekday
events of 2.5 hours occurred on all four
days between November 15-18, and
were fully attended.
The networking sessions
were on various
topics, namely: CFA
pile technology, foundations
for offshore
structures and monopiles,
deep foundation
instrumentation,
testing and analysis
(i.e., design and performance),
helical
s c r ew p i l e s , ad -
vanced testing procedures
for geotechDFI-India
2021 Annual
Conference
The conference from November 12-20
concluded successfully, while using a
virtual platform without a hitch.
Around 350 delegates were registered,
with the maximum attendance
on the virtual conference platform
reaching 220 at one point. The support
from the industry was evident from the
26 participating sponsors, exhibitors
and advertisers. The afternoon sessions
on November 12, 13, 19 and 20
involved technical presentations and
panel discussions.
Registrants also enjoyed networking
sessions and exhibition interactions
on workdays in between the
nical investigation, excavator-based
foundation techniques, reverse circulation
drilling, and women in deep
foundations.
A conference souvenir e-book was
published during the conference, and it
includes the keynote abstracts, contributory
presentation summaries and
messages, as well as recognition of support
by event sponsors, exhibitors and
advertisers. The souvenir e-book can be

The chapter also published all the
double peer-reviewed, contributory
papers of DFI-India 2021 through the
technical publisher Springer, as a series
titled " Lecture Notes in Civil Engineering. "
The published volume is
expected to be released in June-July
Shri Murli Iyengar receives Lifetime Contribution Award
DFI-India 2022
DFI of India will conduct its eleventh
annual conference in collaboration
with the Indian Geotechnical Society
Tirupati Chapter and the Indian
Institute of Technology Tirupati. We
have great hopes of meeting in person
for this event, whose conference dates
have shifted to September 15-17, 2022,
because of November festivals. A
2022, and the series will be listed under
Scopus scoring, with authors benefitting
from the publication.
Lifetime Contribution
Award 2021
DFI of India conferred the Lifetime
Contribution Award for 2021 last fall to
Shri Murli Iyengar, a well-known
geotechnical consultant who spent
several years in the prestigious Engineers
India Limited, Delhi. Shri Murli
Iyengar was awarded the citation and
celebrated during the DFI-India 2021
