Karine Anderson joins Keller as a
business development
coordinator in the
Southeast. With almost
20 years in the industry,
Anderson previously
worked for Hayward
Baker (before becoming Keller) as a
project manager assistant and marketing
coordinator, and Earth Tech as a
business development manager.
Blake Fahl has joined Eijkelkamp
North America as a territory sales
manager for the Midwest (East of the
Mississippi) and Southeast United
States. Fahl joins the team of Jim
Nidzgorski who handles the Northwest
and Midwest (West of the Mississippi
River), Mike Epley who handles the
Southwest and Greg Halliday who
handles the Northeast.

TEI Rock Drills held its annual spring
seminar, hosted by its Eastern U.S.

located in Columbus, North Carolina.
Team TEI brought together its North
America Sales Team, industry experts
and local contractors to talk about the
uses of hollow bar. Presentations
covered ins t a l l a t i on me thods ,
applications and the proper equipment
to install hollow bar. Experts explained
the importance of hollow bar identification,
grout plants and case studies on
converting jobs to hollow bar versus
other drilling installation methods.
There was also a demonstration of the
Intric Grout Plant and the MME260HT
attachment installing hollow bar with
ease and efficiency.
A new ASCE Press book, Site-Specific
Ground Motions for Seismic Design of
Buildings and Other Structures aids
stakeholders in understanding seismic
ground motion. Author Praveen K.
Malhotra provides a step-by-step
approach to properly conduct sitespecific
Ground Motion Hazard Analysis
(GMHA) and Site Response Analysis
(SRA), and the resources available.

to geotechnical and
structural engineers

CZM Introduces LR50 to Fleet
CZM Foundation Equipment recently
introduced the LR50 to its Long Reach
series of machines. The Long Reach
series is a unique CZM design that
brought the high performance of CZM's
EK line to a boom mounted set up with
increased reach.
The LR50 is the smallest model of
Long Reach series mounted on a CAT323
NextGen base. Highlights of this
machine include 173 horsepower,
52,900 ft pounds of torque, maximum
drilling diameter of 8 ft (2.4 m) and
standard drilling depth of 40 ft (12 m).
Additionally, it features a main winch
line pull of 27,120 pounds with 2 gears
for high speed and pulling force, and an
operational weight of 75,000 pounds.
The rotary offers three operation and
spinoff speeds as well as automatic gear
shifting. Its maximum reach of 12 ft 9 in
(3.6 m 22.8 cm) is ideal for utility drilling,
substation work and limited access jobs.
The Long Reach machines are
equipped with a specially designed
boom with 2 lift cylinders, allowing for
a higher torque and crowd force to be
applied to the tool. The tool aligns with
interlocking Kelly bars making it
efficient in rock and hard soil drilling.
Round Friction bars are also available
for high production in softer soils.
This model is extremely light and
can be transported in one load, with the
Kelly bar on, and is easily set up without
the need of support equipment. It is also
equipped with a control system to
monitor drilling parameters, perform
some functions automatically, and to
help with diagnostics and maintenance
records. CZM can also log in remotely to
its telematics system to troubleshoot
and resolve issues.
CZM Foundation Equipment also
announces a new partnership with West
Coast rental house PACO Construction
Equipment, who will feature the CZM
Long Reach series of machines, with a
variety of models available for rent.
