A Robust Program for S3
The program is available for S3 -
Slopes, Slides and Stabilization from
July 26-28, 2022, at the Renaissance
Nashville Hotel in Tennessee.
The goal of the 2.5-day event is to
provide presentations and panel discussions
on current technologies, design
concepts, research and case histories for
challenging slope and landslide repairs,
excavation support, and slope stabilization
projects using deep foundation and
ground improvement methods.
Invited Speaker
We are excited to announce that John
Wolosick, P.E., S.E., D.GE, F.ASCE, of
Keller North America, is delivering his
incredibly popular presentation,
" Repair of the National Corvette
Museum Sinkhole Using Micropiles. "
In 2014, a deep sinkhole opened
directly under the National Corvette
Museum in Bowling Green, Kentucky,
swallowing eight valuable Corvettes of
various vintages. Wolosick, a Corvette
enthusiast, will deliver a chronological
presentation documenting the collapse,
repair efforts, micropile design and
installation, and recovery of the cars.
Software Discussion
A highlight of the event is the annual
software discussion where a problem is
presented to slope stability software
providers who discuss, analyze and
present solutions.

Jeff Segar, P.E., S.E., of GeoStabilzation
International and co-chair for the DFIADSC
Anchored Earth Retention
Committee is presenting the background
of the software discussion
problem and facilitating the discussion
aimed at furthering industry understanding
of the use of software for slope
stabilization problems. The software
presentation is based on an active
landslide below an existing road. Visit

find recordings of past software discussion
panels.
The presentation will be followed by
a facilitated Q&A discussion.
