Denton, Texas office, Willig brings more
than 32 years of experience with civil
engineering, deep foundations and
heavy civil and infrastructure throughout
North America and Europe. His roles
have ranged from project management
to being an executive for a major deep
foundation company. He also chaired
the DFI Slurry Wall Committee for four
years. Willig says that Forgen's passion
for excellence and teamwork inspired
him to join the company, and that his
mission is to enhance its growth by
leveraging foundation techniques as
adjacent services to its core business.

Keller North America (Keller) recently
acquired RECON Services, an industrial
services, soil stabilization and environmental
remediation company headquartered
in Houston, Texas. RECON
will continue to operate as a separate
company within Keller providing
customers with the same industryleading
service. The business will be
managed by Danny Brown, senior vice
president of operations - RECON, and
report through Moretrench Industrial,
Keller's existing Florida-based business.
RECON works principally for industrial
clients in the petrochemical sector,
predominantly along the Gulf and East
coasts of the U.S. Its geotechnical work is
focused mainly on the environmental
remediation and solidification of soils,
while its industrial services activities
support the specialized needs of the
power, mining and manufacturing
industries. Together, RECON and
Moretrench Industrial significantly
broaden Keller 's capability in the
growing environmental services sector.
In addition, their shared industrial focus
and geographic proximity will provide
synergies with the Keller foundations
businesses.
Numa Hammers and Bits, a leading
drilling technology provider, has
announced a new range of casing ring
bit systems for simultaneously drilling
and casing vertical or horizontal holes
in piling, foundation, anchoring, geothermal
and other casing applications.

Numa's Casing Ring Bit System
consists of a pilot bit, casing shoe and
heavy-duty ring bit and is available in a
wide range of sizes for drilling holes 16
to 48 in (406 to 1,219 mm) in diameter.
The design is highly configurable, with
options for both drill through and nondrill
through applications requiring the
installation of casing into bedrock. The
system also boasts the ability to handle
overburden and/or hard rock conditions
using either conventional or
reverse circulation DTH hammers.

(ASCE) recently released a new book,
Structural Design for Physical Security
(MOP 142), that provides an overview of
the typical design considerations
encountered in new construction and
renovation of facilities for physical
security. This book replaces the 1999
technical report by the same name, and
is intended to provide a roadmap for
designers and engineers involved in
physical security to better account for
the extent of damage and plan upgrades
for maintaining structural integrity.
