Green Organic Dutchman
Changes Name to BZAM
Canadian cannabis producer The
Green Organic Dutchman is
changing its name to BZAM. The
company is also changing its ticker
symbol on the Canadian Securities
Exchange to BZAM, pending
approval.
Mississauga, Ontario-based
Green Organic Dutchman Holdings
and Vancouver, British Columbiaheadquartered
BZAM Cannabis
entered into a binding agreement to
combine their businesses in October.
Israeli Firm InterCure
Scraps Purchase of Better
Israeli cannabis producer
InterCure's proposed acquisition of
rival medical marijuana company
Cann Pharmaceutical, also known
as Better, was terminated after
the companies failed to bridge
differences.
Herzliya-based InterCure had
announced the proposed transaction,
valued at $35 million, approximately
one year ago.
InterCure said its plan to purchase
Better, based in Tel Aviv, Israel, was
terminated because the closing
conditions in the original agreement
had not been met. The company
also said it was owed " significant
amounts " of money that it had
loaned to Better.
Delta 9 Cuts Capacity
and Jobs to Save Money
Winnipeg, Manitoba-based
marijuana cultivator and retailer
Delta 9 Cannabis is cutting its
cultivation capacity by about 40%,
including " a temporary layoff of
approximately 40 staff, " as part
of a plan to achieve positive cash
flow from operations.
While Delta 9's retail segment is
profitable, the cultivation segment
has " struggled
with profitability
due to continued
price and margin
compression in the Canadian
cannabis market, " Chief Operating
Officer Mark Jonker said in a news
release.
