The Highlights: Inspiration abounds here from the effervescent
and creative atmosphere of the area, the erudite and refined
Parisian character, as well as the industrial past of the building,
a former electric factory in the Art Deco style. The history of the
place is transcribed in the lobby through a monumental sculpture
in white monochrome punctuated by colorful paintings. This
microarchitecture is a tribute to the maze of cables that once
crisscrossed the building, as well as an ode to contemporary art
and to the Cité de l'Architecture et du Patrimoine, located just a
stone's throw away.

The Highlights: The aesthetic for styling and custom furniture to complement
the restored interiors of the former Iowa Loan & Trust Company is the lobby's
muse: a guest of the original early 20th-century era. Inspired by fashion, the
color palette features cognac brown leathers, hand-applied artisan suede
plaster walls, tailored green and burgundy leather furnishings, heathered wool
tweeds, and copper metal paying homage to coins and bankers lamp-style
lighting. With newhand scraped wood flooring and natural light streaming
through newly expanded windows, this living room exudes relaxed warmth.

The Highlights: This renovation tells the story of Edgar, the fictitious grandson
of the original hotel maven. He's a rebellious, modern millennial who inherited
the property and brought in his unapologetic style. On one side of the lobby,
banquettes with digital Andy Warhol art installations frame the opening to the
library. The space features a glass garage door that opens to the pool courtyard
and a custom shelving unit layered with midcentury objects of art collected by
the designers over the life of the project. The focal point of the library is an oil
portrait featuring a woman in a peacock green top-a vibrant hue that becomes
a key accent color-a contrast to the otherwise soft and natural palette.
