Crestron Rolls Out New Streaming Preamp, In-Wall Sub
CRESTRON HAS introduced
its DM NAX 4-Zone Streaming
Pre-Amplifier and a new
in-wall subwoofer.
The DM NAX 4-Zone
Streaming Pre-Amplifier employs
Crestron's AV-over-IP
technologies, and the company
emphasizes the component
is its first-ever preamplifier.
The new Ultimate
Subwoofer natively pairs with
the new preamplifier to augment
Crestron whole-house
AV systems, or it can be used
in home theaters to add low
frequencies to today's immersive
audio systems.

The multizone streaming
preamplifier is a 1U-high
component that incorporates
the company's AoIP
(audio over IP) technologies
to distribute audio throughout
a home, and it natively
integrates into Crestron
Home, the company's home
control and automation
platform.
The new subwoofer
represents its latest collaboration
with Las Vegas-based
Origin Acoustics, and with
the addition of the Ultimate
In-Wall Subwoofer
integrators now have a
choice of more than a dozen
architectural and landscape
loudspeakers to select from
Crestron's product line.
According to Crestron,
when the Ultimate In-Wall
Subwoofer is used with
loudspeakers from its Ultimate
or Reference product
lines, integrators can create
immersive audio experiences
for their clients that includes
deep bass. The new in-wall
subwoofer comes with a
paintable grille and it installs
through an easy-to-use, dogleg
mounting system.
The DM NAX 4-Zone
Streaming Pre-Amplifier also
provides options such as
interoperability with AES67
and Audinate's Dante digital
audio platform.
CEDIA Transfers The Cinema Designer to Original Creator
CEDIA HAS TRANSFERRED
the ownership of The CEDIA
Designer (TCD) software
back to Guy Singleton, the
original creator and owner
of the design and proposal
software. The software will
also revert back to its original
name: The Cinema Designer.
Singleton originally sold the
software to the association
back in August 2018.

pre-paid subscriptions fees

In the coming weeks, the
TCD team will be in communication
with integrators to
update them on the transfer
and make it as seamless as
possible.
TCD software is a
home-theater design tool -
crunching numbers and spitting
out " technically correct "
configurations for everything
from screen size to speaker
and furniture placement,
along with documentation
for dealers, end users, and
relevant trades.
For many integrators, the
software replaces the need
to enlist an outside CAD
specialist at $200 per hour
