frequently cooktops are under-illuminated
- as an avid
home cook, I really want to
keep a close watch on food
as it cooks and monitor
changes easily. I don't want
bright, shadowless light all
the time, but it's great to
have it available when I need

with high-color-rendering
light when desired. Task
lighting requires convenient
local control, so location of
keypads and voice control
are especially important.
In the kitchen, timing
is often critical, and voice
control makes it easy to set
timers when your hands
are busy or messy. I love

Ventilation systems and
HVAC can also benefi t from
convenient controls.
The ability to answer the
door from the kitchen and
bath should be considered
in the overall design, and of
course with all the new connected
devices, Wi-Fi needs
to be optimized as well.
