Audio Advice sure knows
how to take dealer events
to another level. Prior to
the pandemic the company
hosted myriad " Music
Matters " events at its
showroom, but in 2022 the
industry stalwart staged its
ambitious Audio Advice Live
in Raleigh during the weekend
of Aug. 19-21, turning a
downtown Sheraton into a
local showcase for some of
the biggest brands in the
AV industry with exhibits as
well as educational sessions
for attendees.
Setups featuring more
than 50 vendors filled up
engaging rooms at the hotel
all three days beginning at
Audio Advice Live, held in Raleigh, N.C., at the end of last summer, included a mix of audio

Advice CEO Scott Newnam
officially kicked off Audio
Advice Live before Friday
evening with an energetic
opening keynote centered
on AV trends, high-performance
audio and video.
" The keynote was
particularly exciting for me
to see the room standing-room
only. Way more
people showed up for that
kickoff than we anticipated.
That just felt terrific after
a couple of years of not
getting people together like
this, " Newnam says. " I also
thought the panelists did
a superb job making those
really insightful and helpful. "
Indeed, a busy schedule
on Saturday included four
wide-ranging sessions focused
on different sectors of
the AV market, with expert
panelists representing exhibitors
and other audio and
video industry luminaries.
" The Vinyl Revival: Turntable
Must-Haves & Getting
the Most Out of Your Vinyl
Collection " started things
off in the morning, moderated
by Audio Advice founder
Leon Shaw. He welcomed
vinyl authority Michael
Fremer, senior editor at The
Absolute Sound; Jon Derda,
VP of sales & marketing at
Mofi Distribution; Jeffrey
Coates, director of marketing,
McIntosh Group; and
Bryce Allan, sales manager,
The Sound Organisation.
