ADT Now Installing Google Nest Smart Home Products
ADT CUSTOMERS can now purchase Google Nest Mini, Nest
Hub and Nest Hub Max products and have them professionally installed by its network of smart home technicians.
The offering is the latest development in ADT and Google's
partnership, which was described as a " far reaching " and " longterm commitment by both companies that is built to last. "
The companies revealed their new relationship last August,
which will eventually see Google fully integrate its hardware
and services with ADT's DIY and professionally installed smart
home security solutions. As part of the partnership, Google
also acquired 6.6% ownership in ADT.
Originally slated for mid-2022, ADT announced in November that it will accelerate the release of its new ADT + Google
do-it-for-me professionally installed system to the second
half of 2021. The new platform will feature co-branding with
Google, integrated Google Maps products, Nest cameras and
thermostats, and Google video analytics.
Customers with ADT Command & Control and Blue by ADT
smart home security systems can now control their systems
via voice when using compatible Google Nest products.
Voice control can be used for system arming and disarming,
connected lights, locks, ADT thermostats and system status
queries. For example, saying " Hey Google, disarm my security
system, " instead using an app or panel to disarm.

The solutions portfolio opportunity stems from the
companies' partnership announced last August.

The integration also enables control of ADT-compatible
smart devices through touch control using the Nest Hub and
Nest Hub Max. ADT professional installation of these Google
Nest devices is included when purchased through ADT or
select ADT Authorized Dealers, according to the company.
Nest Mini devices may also now be purchased through Blue
by ADT (DIY) smart home security.

While Ring is a well-known
DIY brand, the company's
recently released X Line of installer-only products with additional features, makes them
ideal for upselling in custom
projects, SnapAV notes.
X Line bundles include
additional features like a Ring
Protect Lifetime Basic Plan
limited to the useful lifetime
of device and a three-year
limited warranty, and certain
X Line SKUs are compatible

with Power over Ethernet.
Other products feature
either hardwired, battery, or
solar-powered options for
added convenience.
