S.C. Integrator Turns Drop-Down Screen Dream into Reality
The homeowner's goal in
this project that Advanced
Integrated Controls of
Bluffton, S.C., took on
was to create the ultimate
" drop-down " home theater.
AIC employed a system that
included a Nexus 21 projector lift and a motorized
SnapAV Dragonfly 110-inch
projection screen.
AIC installed Sony's
powerful VPL-VW995ES
projector, for true-to-life
4K detail. The SXRD unit
uses a Z-Phosphor laser
light to provide long lasting,
bright and detailed images
from sources such as a 4K
Apple TV.
To keep the speakers
hidden AIC used in-ceiling
and in-wall speakers and a
subwoofer to create a true

theater-like sound system. The company custom
faux-finished the KEF THX
certified speakers' grille
plates to match the walls and
room décor, and concealed
JL Audio subwoofers.
Ease of use was a critical
concern. AIC integrated an
Elan g! System. With so many
moving parts it was essential
that the homeowner could
" drop " the projector and the
screen without any technical mishaps. An Elan HR10
remote provides control.
Additionally, the gear
is protected with a Panamax BlueBolt system. This
prevents any surges from
damaging the equipment and
allows AIC to help remotely
with any technical issues the
homeowner may be facing.

Advanced Integrated
Controls implemented
a Nexus 21 projector lift
and motorized 110-inch
Dragonfly screen. For audio, AIC customized KEF
speakers' grille plates and
hid JL Audio subwoofers.

also organizes the equipment and exact time for

Theaters with pre-built
racks are also no problem,
since DISH offers pros
the ability to pre-activate
receivers during staging.
Installation is handled
by a Level4 DISH satellite
technician, highly trained to

execute efficiently in luxury
homes and understand his
role to satisfy the integrator
on the job site.
Post sale, the Concierge
Team is always available
for account questions or
adjustments, troubleshooting or even scheduling of a
technician visit for on-site
service.
