SurgeX Starts Shipping Versatile
Squid Power Device
SURGEX announced it is
now shipping its Squid power management device. The
company had previewed the
product for integrators prior
to the pandemic at tradeshows including ISE 2020 in
Amsterdam, so anticipation
has been building for the
solution.
From a compact, single-chassis design, the Squid
streamlines installation and
fulfills the unique needs
of collaborative flex environments, home offices,
and other tight-spaced AV
installs, SurgeX notes.
The unique solution com-
bines the most in-demand
SurgeX functionalities for
integrators: boxed network
control, AC and DC analytics,
and front-end protection
with patented Multi-Stage
surge elimination, along with
the remote analytics and
monitoring features of the
SurgeX enVision line.
Additionally, Squid keeps
in compliance with leading
network security protocols
including 802.1x authentication and active directory.
Squid offers SurgeX Axess
ELITE intelligent power
foundation capabilities such
as sequencing, scheduling, au-
to-ping, IP Control, and monitoring, helping integrators
reduce service calls through
proactive management. Builtin diagnostic monitoring offers
a single solution for management, mitigation, and control
of the system's power.
The chassis includes two 5V
USB ports inputs for charging
and network troubleshooting,
eight outputs, four of which
are traditionally controlled
and monitored IEC receptacles, and four are DC so
integrators can eliminate wall
warts or a two-box solutions.
