Vitec Acquires Audix, Aims to Cover
All Growth Segments of Mic Market
CASSOLA, ITALY-BASED
Vitec Imaging Solutions, a
division of The Vitec Group
plc, has announced that it
has acquired Audix and its
affiliates. At press time, the
deal was expected to close
shortly. According to Vitec,
the acquisition continues its
mission to marry great audio
with great video for creators
of all types.
Portland, Ore.-based Audix
is, of course, a prominent
microphone brand for studio
and live performance audio,
focusing on premium, professional
vocal and instrument
microphones that are
designed for commercial, live
and studio applications.
As part of Vitec, the Audix
team and facility in Oregon
will become Vitec Imaging
Solutions' Audio R&D Center
of Excellence. This, therefore,
will accelerate in-house
microphone product design,
development and manufacturing
across all Vitec audio
brands. By acquiring Audix,
Vitec's audio-capture strategy
now centers on three core
brands to cover all growth
segments of the $1 billion
microphone market. Those
brands are Audix (for installed
sound and studio recording);
Rycote (microphones and
noise-cancellation accessories
for professional broadcasting
and filmmakers); and
JOBY (mobile microphones
for content creators).
" Audix is the perfect
addition to our existing audio
range in a high-tech, growing
category, " Marco Pezzana, divisional
CEO at Vitec Imaging
Solutions, says. " The brand
will significantly increase
our total addressable market
[and] advance our audio technology
capabilities.... " Moreover,
he continues, it " most
importantly [will] bring great
people with intimate knowledge
of the audio industry,
who will be a real asset to
the company and enable us
to accelerate the delivery
of Vitec's audio strategy.... "
Therefore, he adds, Vitec
can delight content creators
with easy-to-use, high-fidelity
audio-capture solutions.
Snap One Acquires Staub Electronics in Bid to Elevate Partner Experience
SNAP ONE HAS ACQUIRED longtime
Canadian distribution partner Staub
Electronics in a move to expand its North
American local branch footprint. According
to Snap One, the Staub acquisition
reflects its continued execution of its
accretive acquisition strategy to further
establish the company as a seasoned
acquirer of strategic assets.
Snap One's CEO, John Heyman,
points out that the acquisition brings together
two companies that have worked
together for more than 10 years and that
share a core commitment to helping professional
integrators by providing high
levels of service and a comprehensive
product portfolio.
" This acquisition will strengthen our
capabilities across Canada, introducing
a wider range of products, providing
faster turnaround times on orders,
allowing for same-day order pickups and
delivering more product choice than
ever before for our Canadian partners, "
Heyman states.

Staub Electronics' president, Scott
Trotter, vice president Bryan Sack, and
the entire management team will continue
to run the business.
Meanwhile, founder Dave Mason will
retire. Staub will continue to support all
its current lines of business, including its
automotive division.

local branch footprint to a total of 33
locations, further expanding its network
of physical locations to allow partners
in more regions to procure on-demand
products, training and in-person customer
service. The Snap One omnichannel
strategy of complementing its ecommerce
capabilities with local branches
began in 2018 with the acquisition of
Allnet Distributing.
The company emphasizes that it has
invested heavily to expand its local
branch footprint over the past three
years. Snap One says that its local
branches offer integrators a wide range
of fulfillment options, including 24-hour
will-call rooms, jobsite delivery and selfshopping
experiences.
