MultiDyne Acquires Niagara Video Corp.
HAUPPAUGE, N.Y.-based
MultiDyne Fiber Optic
Solutions has added another
strategic layer to its growing
business by acquiring Niagara
Video Corp. The latter is a supplier
of compression, streaming
and IPTV solutions for the
broadcast and commercial
AV markets. The acquisition
strengthens MultiDyne's value
proposition for softwaredefined
video transport and
positions the company as a
full-service provider of hardware
and software solutions
for moving high-quality video
over any distance or network
architecture.
Black Pearl Management
Group facilitated the acquisition
process on behalf of
both companies. That firm
is owned and operated by
broadcast industry veteran
Bob McAlpine.
" The MultiDyne brand has
long been associated with fiberoptics, "
Frank Jachetta, CEO
of MultiDyne, says. " But, as a
company, we excel at processing
and moving media. "
Jachetta states that the Niagara
Video business adds " proven
hardware and pure software
solutions to our in-house
hardware portfolio. " Thus, he
adds, it will help the company
proliferate media-transport
opportunities for its customers.
That includes moving media
from server-based engines and
over more diverse network
topologies, while ensuring
seamless interoperability with a
mix of industry protocols (e.g.,
HEVC, HLS, RTMP and SRT).
Expanding MultiDyne's
Customer Base
Jesse Foster, MultiDyne's vice
president of products, cites
the growing esports market as
a business strength of Niagara
MultiDyne's acquisition of Niagara Video strengthens its
value proposition for software-defined video transport.
Video, along with AV business
verticals like corporate and
education. Thus, he says, this
move will expand MultiDyne's
customer base. Foster also
sees a natural expansion of its
core broadcast and live-production
business into the
Remote Integration Model
(REMI) production space,
as well as an opportunity to
offer complete solutions for
worship facilities.
" This really opens MultiDyne
to new verticals, " Foster
notes. Saying that compression
is a necessary technology
for remote connectivity, he
explains, " Niagara's portable
GoStream encoders and
decoders will provide our
customers with the lowlatency
streaming and backhaul
solutions they need for
REMI production and liveentertainment
events. "
NSCA Releases Electronic Systems Outlook Summer 2022 Report
Cedar Rapids, Iowa-based
NSCA has updated its
biannual Electronic Systems
Outlook report for Summer
2022. It includes
construction-outlook information
for the U.S. and Canada
based on actual data
from Q1/22 and Q2/22. It
also offers a forecast for the
remainder of 2022, 2023 and beyond.
NSCA is the not-for-profit association that
represents the commercial integration
industry.
Overall, total U.S. engineering and
construction spending is forecast to end
2022 up 9%, as compared to being up 8%
in 2021.
The Electronic Systems Outlook Summer
2022 edition provides an updated
view of the top markets for
renovation and new construction;
construction forecasts for
2022 and beyond; in-demand
technologies and where that
growth is occurring; focused
sales approaches; and new business
opportunity potential.
The information this report
contains helps integrators adjust their sales
and marketing strategies.

According to NSCA's executive director,
Tom LeBlanc, " The report reveals that
short-term commercial construction activity

sion, but contraction is anticipated down
the road.... " That might weigh on future
industry growth. LeBlanc also suggests:
Consider using the " percentage of total
vertical market construction " averages as a
starting point in client discussions, tracking
how their local marketplace compares to
national averages.
