HEALTHCARE DESIGN SHOWCASE CARDIOLOGY CLINIC The Texas Heart Institute Center for Cardiovascular Care Houston SUBMITTED BY: HUITT-ZOLLARS INC. (HOUSTON DOWNTOWN) ©2023 JUD HAGGARD PHOTOGRAPHY ©2023 JUD HAGGARD PHOTOGRAPHY The Texas Heart Institute Center for Cardiovascular Care partnered with Huitt-Zollars to create a state-of-the-art cardiovascular clinical practice space that promotes patient-centered care by providing comfortable, accessible, full-service cardiovascular care in one suite. Located in the world-renowned Texas Medical Center, the center offers some of the latest technology that supports the cardiologists and technicians as they provide cardiac care to the Houston community. Upon stepping off the elevator at the 26th floor of the 6624 Fannin Tower, daylight orients visitors to an open seating area which affords the best views of Rice University and its associated green spaces. Here, large-format porcelain tile walls inspired by natural onyx bring a sophisticated quality that reflects the client's vision of a heightened patient experience. A mixture of blue accents and warm neutrals were the starting point to achieve a serene, calm environment for patients as they wait and receive care. The combination of wood and textile-patterned vinyl flooring, as well as the wood ceiling in the waiting area are inviting and soft, while meeting the cleanability requirements of a healthcare environment. The selected materials provide a perceived warmth and softness that help alleviate the anxiety that some patients associate with a doctor's visit. ©2023 JUD HAGGARD PHOTOGRAPHY 88 AU GUST 2023 / SUPPLEMENT TO HEALTHCARE DESIGN
