a home, wash your hands for 20 seconds and come equipped with cleaning
materials to wipe down and sanitize areas before -and after - the appointment.

2. SPREAD THE COMMUNICATION
Homeowners value transparency about the steps their contractors plan to
take to complete their kitchen or bath remodel. In fact, our recent survey
shows that 21% of homeowners would be less likely to hire a contractor if
they experience poor communication up front.

have a degree of apprehension. Modernize recently
surveyed thousands of homeowners looking to
start home improvement projects and found that
27% feel stressed about their upcoming project.
One way to establish a stronger working relationship
with homeowners is to alleviate any concerns
they have before, during and after a project.
Four chief concerns homeowners report when
starting bath and kitchen remodeling projects are
detailed in this article. Reassuring clients about
these issues should allow you to gain their trust and
potentially earn more business.
1. ENSURING SAFETY AND WELL-BEING
Homeowners prioritize these two things when it
comes to their families. It is important to remember
that some people may feel uneasy about letting
strangers into their home, so demonstrate that
your clients' safety and well-being is a top priority.
Before meeting with homeowners in person, ask
if they have any concerns or preferences regarding
household safety. Clearly explain how your team
plans to create a safe, minimally intrusive environment
for the homeowner and their family during

interior projects, compared to 27% who plan to spend more than $10,000
on their projects.
To alleviate fears about the cost of a remodeling project, off er your clients
an installment plan or fi nancing options. Take the time to create a detailed
estimate of all anticipated remodeling costs. Th oroughly explain how costs are
broken down and outline the milestones when payments will be due.
Use your expertise to help homeowners choose the best materials for their
circumstances and establish a comfortable budget. This assistance helps
strengthen your working relationship and build trust. Th at trust can lead to
work on their next remodeling project and/or referrals to your clients' friends
and family.
4. DEVELOPING CREDIBILITY

with references, links to your website and social media and your license and
