To contrast the green cabinets in the kitchen, Wilson chose brass hardware
and a brass-and-black faucet that goes well with the dark gray sink. Brushed
stainless-steel appliances complement the overall palette, and the white-hued
backsplash offers some texture and sheen. Square can lights offer a daylight
setting for an even brighter atmosphere.
OUTFITTING THE SISTER SPACES
Wilson says the home's layout is a progression, with the kitchen at the entrance
and the dining room next, which opens into the living space. She went
a little bolder in the second two spaces because she didn't want to " slam anyone
with full-on color right away. "
For the entertainment center, which also houses a small bar, the designer
chose a wood tone, and the banquette between that and the kitchen features
shades of brown and green. Wilson loved the circle design in the BelwithKeeler
hardware, so she continued that with the pattern of circles in the
brightly colored Zoffany wallpaper in the living area. She did say that after
the initial presentation, they made some adjustments, including selecting a
lighter-toned sofa.
" Moving forward through the space, there is more color, " said Wilson.
" The daughter is very animated and into dance and color, and I wanted to
reflect the family's energy. "

lines throughout, and many of the items - such as the dramatic living area
wallpaper - are interchangeable.
" My clients wanted their new spaces to be grown up and sexy, and I wanted
visitors' minds to be blown, " said Wilson. " The clients were blown away by my
presentation, and although the wife said she would never have chosen green,
it resonates with the family vibe. "

