Ultimately, the idea of built-in seating was rejected when it became clear that it would primarily act as a footrest during shaving. The designer created a small nook in the wall above the fl oor that fulfi lls this specialized use while preserving the roominess of the shower. Th e project was completed in 10 months, incurring a delay because of the tub's late delivery. Originally scheduled to arrive in February, the fi xture didn't show up until September. Th e designer navigated that hurdle by keeping all parties in the loop on the issue. " I actively managed communication with both the clients and the tub's manufacturer representative, and our contractor was on standby for the install, " said Davey. " Everyone was gracious about the situation. Because the tub was a freestanding model, we were able to fi nish everything else in the room before it arrived on site. " RIGHT The clients preferred a fl ush design for the vanity hardware. The knurled grip contrasts with the polished fi nish of the wall-mount faucets.
