What have you found to be most valuable about your NEWH involvement, both personally
and professionally?
There have been so many valuable things that I have rediscovered in the past few years about NEWH,
but one of the many things that I have always found valuable is networking. I have met so many beautiful
members across our organization. Getting to know many of them professionally and personally has been
exciting.
What would surprise people about you?
My speech. I have a stutter that I have had my entire life and as a child I did not like talking much because
people would make fun of me. My mom put me in a few speech therapy classes, at some point in my
childhood I knew that I had to get ahead of my speech issue or it would always defeat me. So I learned to
take my time when I speak and slow down. I have learned to be more aware when I speak and to talk about
my stuttering and stop being embarrassed about it.

What would people be interested to know about your company?
Lanee S. Burns & Associates, LLC has been in business since 2005. We pride ourselves on giving great
customer service from the beginning to the end. We represent some of best manufacturers in the industry
and we love to really get to know our clients and our team, professionally and personally.
Where do you find inspiration, both inside and outside the industry?
The thing that inspires me each and every day is just waking up and being thankful for all that I have,
all that I have gone through, and all that I will continue to gain in life. Life, living, and the air that I take in
every day and exhale out gives me the greatest inspiration. Life is short, so let's continue to be our best
and be kind to people.
Why do you recommend people get involved with NEWH?
I believe that people should get involved with NEWH for networking and service. It is an organization
that will connect you with people across the world. Also, we should always give back and a great way
to give back to the up-and-coming people joining the industry is by helping and assisting in providing
scholarships.
What is your proudest recent NEWH accomplishment?
My proudest NEWH accomplishment has been being the vice president of Equity, Inclusion, and Diversity.
This role has allowed me to meet so many members and talk to them about how we can continue to
grow NEWH. Also, it has allowed our members to have tough conversations about Equity, Inclusion, and
Diversity. I see chapters being more aware and learning to be more inclusive with members. We might be
taking baby steps to some, but at least we are taking steps and moving in the right direction with EID.
