CHAPTER HIGHLIGHTS
Rocky Mountain
The chapter held a membership appreciation hotel tour in May at the Catbird
Hotel in Denver. The event took place on the Catbird's rooftop. Sixty-four
guests toured the property, stopping at five key locations with features
described by project experts: Will Balinbin of Sage Investments, Stephanie
Gearhart from DLR Group, Jonathan Fu from CF Kent, Aleksandra Kaplin
and Amanda Arguello founders of Swan Dive Design Studio, and Kelli Groh
from Absolute Procurement. The event ended with cocktails and networking,
membership gifts, and a door prize staycation to the Catbird Hotel.

Orange County Region
In March the region hosted its first mixer of the year and, despite the rain, it was a great
success and very well attended. Members and guests gathered at Louie's by the Bay in
Newport Beach where the guest speaker was a locally famous restaurateur and author Ron
Salisbury, 89 years young. Ron spoke about his family's 100 years of service in the restaurant
industry and entertained the group with funny stories and pearls of wisdom about the secrets
of his success across many historic restaurants. The oldest restaurant, El Cholo, has been in
operation in Los Angeles since the 1920s.
The region also celebrated its 2022 TopID recipient Hibner Design Group at Solstice OC
in Irvine, California. Owner Maryanne Hibner and her team were honored and lead a panel
discussion with designers, students, and vendors addressing the current challenges facing
the design industry and shared insights about their design process and experience. Thank
you to all who were able to attend and especially the corporate and local sponsors.
