Understanding the Interior Design Pledge for Positive Impact
Through their wide reach-creating spaces where people live, stay, work, heal,
learn, socialize, dine, and play-interior designers can play a significant role
in reducing global carbon emissions and regenerating ecosystems to help
avert the climate crisis. In this session, learn the pillars of the Interior Design
Pledge for Positive Impact, focusing on design for climate, health, and equity,
and examine the ways interior design professionals are uniquely positioned to
improve lives; support wellness and prosperity in communities; and strive for
a just, healthy, and sustainable society.

The Significance of Designing Beyond ADA Stereotypes
Accessibility and inclusion in design require countless considerations-many
beyond the obvious. An expert panel will discuss design solutions for sensory
and mobility impairment from vision, hearing, and speech challenges to spatial
and accessibility concerns and guidelines. Learn the impact of light, color,
sound, and more when it comes to designing for inclusion of all guests and
employees in hospitality.

Boutique Design Power Players: Women in Hospitality Leaders Breakfast
A Boutique Design signature event, this session brings together
women thought leaders in hospitality design, operations, investment,
and manufacturing for a lively, strategic discussion of the challenges,
opportunities, and trends facing the industry. These forward thinkers give
designers insider advice on how they can make the current hotel development
and investment climate work to their advantage. NEWH will also present four
scholarships: the $5,000 NEWH Women Leaders scholarship; the $5,000
BrandED scholarship in the name of Holland America; the $5,000 HDAC
Diversity in Hospitality scholarship; and the Yellow Goat Design scholarship.
