Brivo Unveils 'Snapshot'
With Facial Detection
▶ BETHESDA, Md. - Brivo has
launched Snapshot, a high-accuracy video
analytics and forensic tool that uses
machine learning to deliver advanced facial
and person detection by combining
access control and video data streams.
Th e new off ering is said to speed up the
process of fi nding relevant images around
access events by as much as 20x over conventional
search technology in standalone
video management systems.
Customers no longer have to view entire
video clips to research an event. Snapshot
is said to provide them with a single,
visual history of all the people in view of
an entry point for easy reference. Because
the video analysis is performed within the
Brivo Cloud, Snapshot doesn't have the
compute or storage limitations typical of
on-premise video management systems
and is compatible with any video stream,
according the company.

need for a simpler way to quickly
obtain corroborating visual intelligence
around access events, " says Steve Van Till,

continue to change post-pandemic, we expect

ProdataKey Launches New 'High-Security'
Hardware
▶ DRAPER, Utah - ProdataKey has introduced its Red 2 Controller,
Red Readers and Red High-Security Credentials, all components
of its new high-security line of hardware called PDK Red.
The lineup represents a new class of OSDP-compliant, multitechnology
readers, controllers and credentialing options appropriate
for both daily installs and the most demanding security applications,
according to the company.
Red 2 and the Red Readers are enabled by the company's pdk
io mobile Cloud access control solution. The new readers support
13.56MHz high-security smart credentials, 125kHz proximity
cards and mobile access options. Weigand protocols are also supported.
The devices may be used indoors or outdoors and accommodate
multiple technologies within a single unit.
Mullion, keypad and single gang form factors are available.
PDK says Red Readers are enabled for secure channel and remote
fi rmware upgrades and autodetect.
Red 2 is a two-door controller that includes built-in Ethernet
connectivity and self-discovery. It is equipped with an onboard
power supply, and a fully supervised power circuit that monitors
input, output, battery voltage and overall controller health. Both
readers and the Red 2 controller are said to be well-suited for new
installations, retrofi ts or expansions of existing PDK systems.
Red High-Security Credentials are available as 13.56MHz smart
cards or smart fobs. Smart credentials contain a computer chip
programmed with personal information about the cardholder and
permissions for where they can enter.

Th e new off ering is included with Professional
and Enterprise Editions of Brivo
Access. It is also included with Brivo Access
Cam, the company's camera-to-Cloud
video solution that connects video streams
to access events, or can be purchased as a
standalone add-on feature as part of the
4th-generation Brivo Access platform.
HID Global Adds Fingerprint Biometrics
to Signo Readers
▶ AUSTIN, Texas - HID Global announces its HID Signo Biometric
Reader 25B is now designed to capture and read fi ngerprints in
real-world applications and conditions.
The reader is the latest addition to the company's signature line
of HID Signo Readers and adds an API for integration with access
control software solutions from HID Global partners. This is said
to enable a single point of biometric template enrollment through
an access control system. The templates can then be pushed to all
connected devices simultaneously.
With the company's patented multispectral imaging technology,
the HID Signo Biometric Reader 25B is said to capture fi ngerprint
images from both the surface and the sub-surface of the skin, delivering
consistent read performance regardless of environmental
and skin conditions. Its liveness detection capabilities also prevent
spoof attempts leveraging fake fi ngers or latent fi ngerprints.
The HID Signo Biometric Reader 25B supports a variety of
contactless credential technologies including Seos, iCLASS SE,
iCLASS, MIFARE (card serial number) and HID Mobile Access virtual
credentials. Each device supports Near Field Communication
(NFC) and Bluetooth out of the box.
The reader is paired with the web-based HID Biometric Manager
software that performs confi guration and management of the
reader, including fi rmware updates over the network. In addition,
the software enables enrollment of user's fi ngerprint credentials
for use with the diff erent biometric authentication modes 1:1 verifi
cation and 1:N identifi cation.
