PSA Group Rebrands
USAV Division as EDGE
▶ WESTMINSTER, Colo. - PSA, the
world's largest consortium of professional
systems integrators, announces
it has rebranded its USAV division to
EDGE, eff ective immediately.
Since 2001, USAV has supported A/V
systems integrators throughout the
world by connecting them with industry-leading
manufacturers, distributors
and service providers. As integrators
have grown and changed over time, a
necessity for the USAV brand to evolve
became evident, PSA says.
" Over the past two years we have
made tremendous strides to grow
internationally, " says Patrick Whipkey,
vice president of EDGE. " We conducted
interviews with both our U.S. and
international audiences and discovered
integrators and the markets they serve
have evolved. From this, we determined

Cybersecurity With Tempered
Networks Buy
▶ CORK, Ireland - Johnson Controls
announces it has acquired zero trust
cybersecurity provider Tempered Networks.
Financial terms of the transaction
were not disclosed.
Based in Seattle, Tempered Networks
has created 'Airwall' technology, an advanced
self-defense system for buildings
that is said to enable secure network
access across diverse groups of endpoint
devices, edge gateways, Cloud platforms
and service technicians.
It represents a step-change in operational
technology built on secure
transmission pipelines to ensure buildings
data exchanges and service actions
can only take place between people and
devices that are continuously authenticated,
according to the company.

Over six months of development, the
EDGE team conducted research, brainstormed

When PSA acquired USAV in 2017, it also
acquired the brand CI Edge. The inspiration
for the ultimate choice, EDGE, was
derived from this.

Resideo Adds ECD to ADI
Business' Distribution Stable
▶ SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. - Resideo
Technologies Inc. has acquired privately
held Electronic Custom Distributors Inc.
(ECD), based in Houston. Terms of the
transaction were not disclosed.
ECD was founded in 1960 and is a
regional distributor of residential audio,

residential A/V and smart home market
with a comprehensive portfolio of products
from key industry brands, along
with a growing assortment of pro A/V
products for commercial installations.
Additionally, the acquisition increases
ADI's branch presence in the TOLA
region and expands its private brand
off ering with exclusive product lines.
Allied Universal Strengthens
NYC & European Presence
▶ SANTA ANA, Calif. - Allied Universal
says it is continuing its global expansion
with the acquisition of three companies
located in New York, the Netherlands
and Denmark.
The largest of the three companies,
International Protective Service Agency,
is headquartered in New York City
and provides comprehensive security
and event services for clients located
throughout New York and New Jersey.
IPSA founder and owner Jerry Heying, as
well as its 350 employees, will be joining
the Allied Universal team this year.
The other companies - CQB Beveiliging
B.V. (CQB) in the Netherlands and
Kronjyllands Vagtservice A/S (KRV)
in Denmark - will bring expanded
density and scale to existing patrol and
response divisions of Allied Universal's
international business, G4S, according
to the company.
