SnapAV Invests in Parasol
Remote Management
▶ CHARLOTTE, N.C. - SnapAV has
announced a " significant " investment in
Parasol, a provider of remote support
solutions that enhance integrator productivity
and service levels. The investment
is said to accelerate the company's
" commitment to serve integrators as a
leading source for everything they need
to design, install, and support custom
solutions for their customers. " Terms
were not disclosed.
The investment complements SnapAV's
recent acquisition of Access Networks
and its advanced, enterprise-grade,
plug-and-play networking solutions. The
Parasol investment also provides further
momentum
for
SnapAV's
long-term
strategy to help its integrators succeed
with accelerated growth, according to
the company.
Parasol was launched in January 2018
by a group of three integrators: Ted
Bremekamp, who spent years at ETC in
Palm Beach, Fla.; Henry Clifford of Livewire
in Richmond, Va.; and Greg Simmons
of Eagle Sentry in Las Vegas. Simmons
has subsequently joined SnapAV.
Using SnapAV's OvrC platform, Parasol
is said to provide affordable remote
management of systems that offer integrators
the ability to remotely monitor
and manage their installations, while at
the same time earning recurring monthly
revenue (RMR) for their services.

PowerHouse Alliance and CEDIA Partner
to Expand In-Person Training
▶ PITTSBURGH - The PowerHouse Alliance and CEDIA have partnered
to expand the availability of CEDIA's industry-leading in-person
training programs. As one of the first CEDIA education partners
in the industry, PowerHouse Alliance's 11 distributor members will
host in-person CEDIA Training courses at more than 55 locations
across the United States beginning in the fourth quarter.
" It is a common cry throughout the channel: dealers want access
to CEDIA's hands-on foundational courses to support both
newly hired employees as well as technicians who want to advance
their career through a deeper understanding of the fundamentals
of systems integration, " says Giles Sutton, CEDIA co-interim CEO.
Training programs are slated to begin October 2021 and will
start with the foundational courses that prepare individuals to sit
for the CEDIA Cabling & Infrastructure Technician Certification.
Advanced trainings that lead to CEDIA Integrated Systems Technician
Certification are planned for 2022.
" Every PowerHouse location will have at least one CEDIA-certified
instructor, offering dealers the peace of mind that their new
hires are learning the right protocols and standards of work to
be successful on the job, " says Dennis Holzer, executive director
of The PowerHouse Alliance. " Apart from extensive hands-on
training and a consistent curriculum offered by each PowerHouse
member, we will also be attentive to creating training schedules
that work for our dealers. "

Ring X Line Integration Introduced
for Savant Pro App
▶ HYANNIS, Mass. - Savant, a provider of smart home technology,
announces the release of Ring X Line integration with the Savant Pro
App. Last year, Savant and Ring unveiled a multiyear strategic initiative,
starting with Ring X Line bundles available to Savant authorized
integrators via the Savant Store. Now, with the release of Savant's
daVinci 9.4, the company has delivered features and functionality
designed for professional installers to bring enhanced security and
convenience to the Savant and Ring whole-home experience.
Ring X Line is a line of device bundles designed specifically for
professional installers and their clients. The bundles include a select
Ring device of the customer's choosing, as well as a lifetime
Ring Protect Basic subscription (for the useful lifetime of the device),
and a three-year limited warranty on the device.
Within the Savant smart living ecosystem, homeowners can now
expect to enjoy a seamless video doorbell and camera experience
that includes a live view of all Ring video within the Savant Pro App,
homeowner-created notifications based on camera activation, recorded
video clip playback, plus two-way audio communications.
Integrators can add value for their clients by custom-configuring
the Savant system to react to doorbell press or motion events,
pause entertainment content in all zones, and/or activate outdoor
lights. Ring X Line hardware is available now to Savant integrators
on the Savant Store, with full integration available for systems upgraded
to daVinci 9.4 and higher.
