Nexkey Aims to Optimize Retail Operations
▶ SAN MATEO, Calif. - Nexkey, a provider of mobile access
control technology, says it has developed new technology for
retailers to simplify store operations and management after an
increased need for curbside pickups, loss prevention and overall
better consumer experience to battle online shopping.
The company developed new lock compatibility for the
Nexkey Core to replace every lock and key in the store with
the smartphone, most notably retail cabinets, according to an
announcement. The company also expanded its dashboard to
deliver data covering store occupancy and department activity.
Nexkey Core, which is billed as turning any mechanical lock
" smart " in minutes, now supports retail lock types, including but
not limited to ratchet, plunger and cam locks. By eliminating
keys with an app, the new technology is said to help shorten the
checkout process by minimizing time consumers wait for locked
merchandise; prevent theft and asset loss with key logs; and can
improve and speed up online shopping by granting third-party
online order pickers access to merchandise cabinets.

The new program covers four disciplines:
professional, managed, installation
and training services. Professional services
is structured to help design a security solution
that best fits an end-user organization's
needs. This includes analyzing and
identifying specific requirements, setting
up a master key system in a facility and
studying the return on investment (ROI).
Managed services encompass ongoing
support and maintenance for an access system
that can be expanded and continuously
updated. Installation and training services
are designed to ensure everything is set up
correctly, in addition to educating the customer
on product features and determining
the best ways to operate the new system.
RemoteLock Raises $17.8M in Series B Funding
▶ DENVER - RemoteLock announces it has raised a $17.8
million Series B funding round, with $14.8 million having closed
in December and an additional $3 million closing in Q1 2022.
UnitLeader led the round, joined by current investors Kozo
Keikaku Engineering and Iron Gate Capital.
In conjunction with the financing, Dana Zeff, CEO of
UnitLeader, will join RemoteLock's board of directors, bringing
more than 35 years of multifamily market expertise. The
company plans to use the funding to accelerate growth, further
support its end-user customers and integrated software partners,
and expand its library of offerings.

RemoteLock. " We look forward to growing our amazing team,

The company's Cloud-based universal access platform enables
customers in multifamily, vacation rental, commercial and
other industries to remotely manage and control access to any
space. Customers can manage access to their properties directly
using the company's software interface or leverage an API to
embed access control within their own applications.
