Nice Purchases Nortek Control
From Melrose for $285M
▶ ODERZO, Italy - Nice, a global manufacturer
of smart home, security and
home & building automation solutions,
has acquired Nortek Control from Melrose
Industries. SSI first reported a $285 million
agreement had been reached with an
unknown purchaser in September.
Nortek Control is a leading developer
of technology for security, home automation,
control, power, A/V and entertainment,
access control, health, and artificial
intelligence (AI) systems for residential
and commercial markets.
With the addition of Nortek Control
brands - 2GIG, ELAN, Linear, MightyMule,
IntelliVision, among others - Nice,
based here, expands its portfolio to
provide a full suite of integrated solutions
for residential, commercial, industrial
and government customers, from DIY
to custom and professionally-installed
specialized products and high-security
applications.
The move substantially strengthens the
presence of Nice in the North American
market and doubles its R&D capacity
to further accelerate innovation and
expansion of platform-based integrated
solutions, according to the company.

the addition of the Nice product lines our
consolidated organization will now offer
one of the broadest and deepest portfolio
of disruptive products to the market, " says

Founded in the 1960s as Linear Corp.,
Nortek Control has a vast portfolio of
products, over 200 patents and 12 leading
brands. The North American organization
will immediately begin collaborating with
the Nortek Control team on blending
portfolios and operations to emerge fully
integrated in 2023, according to Nice.

PSA CEO Barnette Joins SSI
Editorial Advisory Board
▶ FRAMINGHAM,
Mass. - Matt
Barnette, CEO of
PSA Security Network,
the world's
largest systems
integrator consortium,
is the
newest member
of Security Sales & Integration's Editorial
Advisory Board.
Barnette, a seasoned veteran in the
physical security industry with more than
30 years of experience in management
and executive roles, assumed the PSA
CEO role earlier this year following the retirement
of Bill Bozeman, an SSI Industry
Hall of Fame inductee. Barnette assumes
Bozeman's longtime seat on SSI's Editorial
Advisory Board.
Prior to joining PSA, Barnette served

March Networks Acquired by
Vivotek Parent Company
▶ OTTAWA, Ontatio, Canada - Taiwanese
technology firm Delta has bought video
surveillance provider March Networks,
based here, for $114 million to bolster its
building automation business.
Delta specializes in power and thermal
management products. Its board of
directors has approved the purchase of
100% of the shares in March Networks
from Infinova. The deal is expected to
strengthen Delta's presence in the video
surveillance market and complement its
building automation offering.

solutions to some of the world's leading

increase Delta's exposure to the growing
video market beyond our surveillance
subsidiary Vivotek. "
Following the closing of the transaction,
it is expected that March Networks
will continue to operate from its Canadian
headquarters and the existing executive
management team will continue to lead
the organization.

initiatives during his tenure. Prior to
Mercury/HID, Barnette was President of
AMAG Technology, a G4S company, and
spent 12 years working in various roles
within the global organization.

over $4.5 billion annually in security, fire,
life safety and pro A/V installations.
