According to a survey of 26,000
people, living by the sea can help
with mental health. "This research
into blue health is vital to convince
governments to protect, create
and encourage the use of coastal
spaces," says environmental
psychologist Dr Mathew White,
"We need to help policymakers to
understand how to maximize the
wellbeing benefits of 'blue' spaces"

UBER MENSCH
Uber is currently road-testing a
new work-related app - Uber
Works - which matches workers
with businesses. The site says:
"Whether you're looking for
seasonal, temporary, or regular
shifts, find work that fits your

OCEAN DRIVE
A happy update to a story we
covered about The Ocean Cleanup
project, which harnesses a 600
metre-long tube to collect debris
from the Great Pacific Garbage
Patch. It's now up and running so
follow its leader Boyan Slat on
Twitter who says: "Our ocean
cleanup system is now finally
catching plastic, from one-ton
ghost nets to tiny microplastics!"
