How to get the most out of your levy − Review your workforce development strategy Evaluate where you want your organisation to be in three to five years' time and consider which roles and skills you should be developing to achieve this. − Carry out a skills audit Look at the range and extent of skills presently available within your organisation, then consider where there are gaps and which roles present the greatest challenge to recruitment and retention. − Identify future leaders Think about the employees who are demonstrating the potential to become future leaders and how they can help your organisation achieve your goals.. What investment could you make in their development to realise this potential and improve the likelihood of retaining them? − Calculate the value of levy funds available What funding should you expect to receive from the Apprenticeship Levy* for investment in degree apprenticeships? Consider the most effective way of using these funds to meet your objectives. − Match degree apprenticeships with the skills you need Compare the roles and skills you need with the degree apprenticeships that are available.
