This summer, we welcomed Chancellor Rishi Sunak's announcement that £2bn will be available to fund the creation of a wave of new jobs for young people. As our business helps to feed the nation and with the Covid-19 crisis looking set to continue for the forseeable future, we were pleased to hear the Chancellor announce the creation of the Kickstart Scheme, JC Autumn 2020 Boparan Holdings jw2.indd 2 which will see cash used to create thousands of high-quality work placements. These will be aimed at people aged 16 to 24 who are on universal credit and are deemed to be at risk of long-term unemployment, and 2 Sisters would like to speak to all potential recruits in the 18- to 24-year-old age bracket. Recruitment boost The news about Kickstart came as the business was seeking hundreds of new recruits at our UK poultry business, the majority of roles spread across our large processing sites in Scunthorpe, Willand in Devon and Thetford.
