We've got some tips to ensure success I f you're more than 30 years old, it probably feels like you have been working for a long time already. But more than likely, you will be working for the next 35 years of your life too, and you may be questioning whether your current role is the one for you. Here are some tips on how to get your career transition started. Look around you Identify transferable skills If you're thinking of changing your career altogether but don't feel you have the necessary skills for your preferred path, it may be that going back to school would help. Further education can help you to better prepare for your job choice Write a list of all of the skills you could easily use in another career. List your strongest skills and assess them to see if they will be beneficial for your next career move. You may not be happy with your current job, but that doesn't mean you have to look to a different industry altogether. Look at your current company and see if there is another department you could be interested in. Or, if you're really keen to change career path, see a career adviser - you're never too old to ask for help. Go back to school - but it's a big commitment so make sure you've made the right decision.
