Haven Holidays - is it time
for a new journey?

aven Holidays is part of
Bourne Leisure - one
of the largest providers of
holidays and holiday home
ownership in the UK. Its brands
(Haven, Butlins and Warner Leisure)
are among the most recognised within
the UK holiday market, and it owns
and operates leisure assets on around
6,500 acres of some of the best real
estate in the country. More than
four million families visit one
of the parks, resorts or hotels every
year and Haven aims to give its
guests the very best experience.

The purpose is to provide products
and services to holiday home owners and
holiday guests so they can enjoy the
Bourne experience in a safe, secure and
appealing environment.
Over the years Bourne has come to
realise it needs the support of owners
and guests to ensure the continued
long-term success of its business. This
strategy over the years has proved
a successful one, delivering proﬁts before
tax in 2014 in excess of £200million.

Enterprise and enthusiasm
The company's success over the years
has been driven by the enterprise,
experience and exuberance of its
team members, who all want to
be the best for their guests. They play a
critical role in making sure guests have
an outstanding time. They celebrate
these successes and achievements by
maintaining a place in the Sunday Times
Top 25 Best Companies for the last eight
years running, and achieving Chartered
Institute of Personnel and Development
(CIPD) awards in both Training and
Development and Change Management.

Around 6,000 team members work
across the three brands although this
rises to nearly 12,000 in busy (peak)
periods. The majority of the team work
for a particular brand including those
who work at the Support Centre based in
Hemel Hempstead, Hertfordshire. Haven
also has a number of teams who work
divisionally across a number of brands
with the ultimate aim of supporting the
sites to deliver the experience. Haven, or
Caravan Parks as it is otherwise known, has

a very clear purpose which is to deliver a
'breath of fresh air experience to people
living in towns and cities'. In essence, this
means providing a place where families
can escape the stress and strain of urban
life and enjoy time together as a family.
Many of the team members take on the
role (along with their day jobs) of being
Pioneers. These brilliant team members
actively role model the culture and train
new team members on what 'breath of
fresh air' is all about.

Core values
Haven is very much focused on recruiting
'bright and breezy' people, so team
members who are able to live and breathe
the guest focused culture. Team members
are recruited against the ﬁve core values;
including 'dare to care', 'do the right thing'
and 'make it fun'. These values (in the 'how'
section of the wheel, as well as the 'who',
the 'what' and the 'where'), were launched
three years ago, after the realisation
customers needed to be put back
at the heart of the business.
