Joy joined Levi's in
2019 and previously
worked as a holiday consultant.
How do you feel that Levi Strauss
is promoting equality? I am really
proud to work for a company that
does so much for the LGBTQ+
community, from our parades at
Pride to donating 100% of net
proceeds from our Pride collection to
OutRight Action International, which
works to advance human rights for
LGBTQ+ people all over the world.
How important is diversity and
inclusion to the success of LSCO? I
think it is very important - we're all
given opportunities regardless of
ethnicity, colour or religion. Having
a diverse workforce means you have
staff with different backgrounds,

Levi's is supporting women around
the globe through the I Shape My
World campaign, championing
women's empowerment and celebrating
individuals who are leading the way
in their communities. The message
life experiences, hobbies and
interests. Having so many people
with different stories can only benefit
the company because they each
bring a different perspective.
Are there any diversity programmes
at LSCO that have been of particular
benefit to you? I had a really bad
experience with managing mental
health at a previous company, but
the support I've had from Levi's has
been brilliant. At store level, I've
had regular check-ins with my line
managers and been given a platform
to talk as much or as little as I want.
As management, I feel the wellbeing
of staff is important to make sure we're
in a healthy working environment, but
at the same time we're also supported
by those above us. During my checkins I was introduced to the EAP
(Employee Assistance Programme), a
free programme for Levi's employees.
I contacted a counsellor, who was
able to see me the following week.

world doesn't fit you, you can
shape it into something better.
I Shape My World may seem
simple in concept - to bring women
everywhere the full recognition they
deserve - but it sheds light on the fact
that we have a long way to go when
it comes to gender equality. But it is
a direct extension of the values of the
Levi's brand, personifies the concept of
"using your voice" for positive change.
It's not the only way in which Levi's
works for all. Once again this year,
the Human Rights Campaign has
awarded Levi's with the distinction
of Best Places to Work for LGBTQ
Equality - an honour we've proudly
secured for the 17th year in a row.
