SWISS Adopts AeroSHARK Riblet Film Technology to
Further Reduce its Flights' Carbon Emissions
SWISS will be the first passenger airline to use AeroSHARK aircraft skin technology to further reduce
carbon dioxide emissions and fuel consumption. All 12 of the airline's Boeing 777-300ER aircraft
will have the innovative riblet film, co-developed by Lufthansa Technik and BASF, applied to their
fuselage and engine nacelles. The resulting significant reduction in aerodynamic drag will make the
SWISS Boeing 777 fleet more than 1 percent more fuel efficient, and this in turn, will substantially
further reduce emissions.

A&Ps to Receive College Credit
Epic Flight Academy has signed an articulation
agreement with Polk State College
(PSC). The agreement establishes that
graduates of Epic's FAA Part 147 Aircraft
Mechanic Program can transfer their
FAA Airframe & Powerplant certificate to
PSC for 30 college credit hours. Polk State
College will apply these credits toward an
associate degree in Aviation Maintenance
Administration. The Aircraft Mechanic
Program at Epic takes approximately 19
months to complete. Students can complete
training at Epic and transfer to PSC or take
college classes while earning their A&P.
