to Expand
Terminal at MidAmerica
St. Louis Airport Advances
MidAmerica St. Louis Airport announced that a key
phase of its planned terminal expansion will be moving
forward this fall thanks to nearly $6.5 million in grant
funding recently awarded by the U.S. Department of
Transportation.
MidAmerica Airport will expand the existing 53,500
square-foot terminal by an additional 41,000-plus square
feet under Phase Two of their four-phase Passenger Terminal
Modification project. This phase of the project will create
a standard TSA screening area, two additional second-level
boarding bridges, a service animal relief area, new family
restrooms and a nursing room.
The grant funding will also provide ADA enhancements
for individuals with disabilities to Gate 2 and the security
checkpoint, as well as expand the current departure lounge
and build added space for concessions.

This acquisition strengthens Woolpert's existing aviation
service offerings and expands its geographic footprint in the
western U.S. Jviation is headquartered in Denver and has
offices in Colorado, California, Utah, Wyoming, Missouri
and Ohio. The firm was founded in 2007 and has more than
100 employees.

Courtney Johnson Named SLO Director
Courtney Johnson was named new airports director to
oversee and direct activities at San Luis Obispo County
Regional Airport and Oceano Airport.
Johnson will manage a budget of $9.1
million and a team of 20 full-time employees
at the San Luis Obispo County Airport and the
Oceano Airport. She will direct all activities at
the airports department, including commercial
and general aviation operations.
Johnson has a bachelor's degree in business
administration and economics from California
State University Bakersfield and several years
of experience in the airport administration.

AFCO and AvPorts Add Former American
Airlines Exec to Board
Aviation Facilities Company Management (AFCO) and
AvPorts announced that veteran airline senior executive
Suzanne Boda has joined its board as the airport
development and management companies gear up for a
new era in aviation.
Boda - who spent 37 years as an executive with American
Airlines, US Airways and Northwest Airlines - will serve
as a board director and assist both AFCO and AvPorts on
overall strategy, as well as its finances, operations, and business
development.

McCarran's C Concourse to Undergo
Renovations
The C Concourse at McCarran International Airport
will soon receive a significant renovation.
Planned changes include new fixtures that will create
additional space for passengers, updated f looring and more
amenities, all in an effort to establish a more consistent
experience throughout Terminal 1.
The $13 million project began Sept. 30 with an anticipated
completion date of late summer.

Mineta San José International Airport Breaks
Ground on a New Fire Station
The city of San José, San José Fire Department and
Mineta San José International Airport (SJC) announced
the groundbreaking of the new Fire Station 20 at SJC.
Fire Station 20 will be relocated to the west side of the
Airport on Coleman Avenue, just north of Airport
Boulevard.
This facility replaces the existing Station 20, which has
served the airport for nearly 60 years. With traffic at SJC
reaching a new record of 15.7 million passengers in 2019,
the new and enhanced Station 20 will continue to ensure
the safety of the airport.
