SFO's Harvey Milk Terminal 1
is First To Achieve Full WELL
Certification
San Francisco International Airport's
Harvey Milk Terminal 1 has become
the first airport
terminal
in the
world to earn a full WELL Core
Certification, a performance-based
system for measuring, certifying and
monitoring features of the built environment
that impact human health and
well-being, such as air, water, nourishment,
light, movement, thermal
comfort, sound, materials, mind and
community. SFO earned this certification,
at the highest level of Platinum,
for Harvey Milk Terminal 1 Boarding
Area B, which includes the 25-gate
concourse, post-security concession
space and an integrated connector to
the U.S. Customs Federal Inspection
Area. " We are honored to be the first
airport in the world to achieve full
WELL Certification, " said Airport
Director Ivar C. Satero. " Harvey
Milk Terminal 1 was designed with
both our passengers and employees
in mind... as a place to be relaxed, a
place to be healthy, and a place to be
inspired by the legacy of pioneering
civil rights leader Harvey Milk. My
sincere thanks go out to the entire
project team for setting the new standard
for how airport facilities can truly
benefit the people who use them. "
The SFO project earned the WELL
designation under the WELL Building
Standard Version 2 pilot. The WELL
Standard, spanning over 100 features in
10 impact areas, is a vehicle for buildings
and organizations to deliver more
thoughtful and intentional spaces that
enhance human health and well-being.

LAWA Opens Terminal 4.5 Core
The ongoing modernization of Los Angeles International
Airport (LAX) continues with the opening of the Terminal
4.5 Core, the first major component to complete as part of
a $1.62 billion project at the 60-year-old terminals 4 and
5. The Terminal 4.5 Core, which opened to the public
on Nov. 2, provides direct connectivity to the Terminal 5
baggage claim and check-in lobby. Additionally, it provides
a centralized location between terminals 4 and 5 where
passengers can access all four levels of the terminal building
on the pre-security side using elevators, escalators and stairs.
When the future automated people mover (APM) train
project is complete, the Terminal 4.5 Core will provide
access to APM's West Central Area station by way of a
pedestrian walkway.

GSP Appoints Kirk Eickhoff SVP
and Chief Financial Officer
The Greenville-Spartanburg Airport
District has named Kirk Eickhoff as senior
vice president and chief financial officer.
In this role, Eickhoff will be responsible
for developing and executing the district's
fiscal strategy and administrating
its revenues and expenses. In addition,
he will oversee the finance, accounting, internal audit,
risk management, disadvantaged business programs and
procurement departments. " I am extremely excited to
welcome Kirk to the GSP team as senior vice president
and chief financial officer, " said Dave Edwards, president
and CEO of GSP. " GSP has a long-standing history of
financial excellence. I am confident that Kirk's experience,
financial background, and values align with GSP's
mission and vision of continued excellence for the future. "
With 15 years of progressively responsible accounting
and finance experience, Eickhoff was most recently the
vice president and chief financial officer for the Tucson
Airport Authority (TAA). He also served as the director of
finance and manager of financial planning, budgeting and
analysis for TAA. Eickhoff earned his bachelor's degree in
Corporate Financial Management from the University of
Akron. He is a Certified Public Accountant.
