Texas Governor Appoints Machuca to
Aerospace and Aviation Advisory Role
Gov. Greg Abbott of Texas announced
the appointment of Arturo Machuca
to the Aerospace and Aviation
Advisory Committee. Machuca,
director of Ellington Airport and the
Houston Spaceport for the Houston
Airport System, will assist in the state's
economic development efforts to recruit and retain
aerospace and aviation jobs and investments in Texas.
" I'm honored to have been appointed by Governor
Abbott to serve the great State of Texas, " said Machuca
of his appointment which will expire September 1,
2023. Machuca received a Bachelor of Arts degree in
Hotels and Tourism Administration from Universidad
Regiomontana in Monterrey, Mexico.

Napa County Appoints Witsoe
as Airport Manager
Napa County has named Mark Witsoe,
A.A.E., as airport manager for Napa
County Airport (APC). Reporting to
the deputy director of Public Works,
Witsoe will direct and coordinate the
activities of the airport. In addition to
managing the airport, Witsoe will also be responsible for
the annual budget and the capital improvement program.

successful tenant partners, and committed community
stakeholders, making the Napa Valley such an exquisite
natural area and attractive tourism destination, " said Witsoe.

City of Boise Department of Aviation Appoints
Spencer as Security Manager
The City of Boise Department of Aviation
has named Jodi Spencer, C.M., as security
manager for the Boise Airport (BOI).
Spencer will be responsible for ensuring
compliance with TSA regulations, 49
CFR parts 1540 and 1542 and all TSA
directives. " Boise Airport is a fantastic
place to work, and I am honored and excited to be placed
in this role during our continued growth, " said Spencer. " I
look forward to maintaining and creating new relationships
with tenants, coworkers and passengers. " Spencer earned
her bachelor's degree in Elementary Education from Boise
State University. She is a Certified Member (C.M.) of the
American Association of Airport Executives.

Modernized Fuel Facility Creates
Resilience for Travel at SFO
San Francisco International Airport (SFO) leaders joined
SFO FUEL LLC airline partners and Burns & McDonnell
project team members for a ribbon cutting to celebrate the
airport's modernized jet fuel storage facility designed and
built by Burns & McDonnell on behalf of the airlines. The
project includes two new 90,000-barrel above-ground jet
fuel tanks, a new pump pad, and facility controls upgrades
at the existing fuel storage facility. The new pump pad
conveys jet fuel to the aircraft hydrant system at SFO. The
facility controls systems create resilience through enhanced
safety and increased stability of the overall facility, and the
addition of the new pump pad and storage tanks provide a
much-needed increase in storage and fuel delivery capacity.
The modernized fuel facility continues to receive sustainable
aviation fuel (SAF), a low-carbon and sustainably produced
alternative to jet fuel.

Jacobsen|Daniels (J|D) announces Matt
Johnson has been promoted to senior vice
president. Johnson will be responsible for
leading J|D's Planning Division, comprised
of Planning, Capital Programs and
Infrastructure, and Management Strategy
and Services. Previously, Johnson served
as vice president leading J|D's Planning Practice for seven
years. He was instrumental in leading projects, including
contracts for the FAA, Memphis/Shelby County Airport
Authority Sustainable Airport Masterplans, and Los Angeles
World Airports Program Management Advisory Services.
