NATA Introduces the New Safety
1st Training Center

The National Air Transportation Association
(NATA) launched its all-new NATA Safety
1st Training Center providing training for
FBOs, ground handlers and other aviation
businesses.
Feedback from the organization's members and
users resulted in redesigned content; a move
away from the one-size-fits-all, single-certificate training model to a ratings-based
approach that focuses on employee learning
and development; a new Learning Management System (LMS); and new resources for
trainers and administrators that will improve
and align on-the-job training with the content that employees view online.
The updated platform will allow companies
to focus training efforts on skills and tasks
on an as-needed basis rather than requiring
full completion of all content in a limited
time frame. The new format utilizes "ratings"
that signify completion of required training
for specific ground handling tasks, such as a
Wing Walking Rating or Aircraft Marshalling
Rating. As employees earn more ratings, they
can achieve even higher "certification levels"
that recognize their increased level of skill
and knowledge, with the ultimate goal of
achieving the Safety 1st Expert Certification
Level.
"This new approach to training takes what's
been at the core of the Safety 1st program to a
higher level by enhancing training flexibility
and comprehensiveness for organizations
while providing trainees consistent feedback
and motivation for achievement throughout
their learning path," said NATA's managing
director of safety and training Michael France.

Swissport Opens Second Air Cargo Warehouse at Vienna Airport

Swissport International has opened its second
air cargo warehouse at Vienna International
Airport. The new cargo facility will have
a surface of 2,100 square meters, bringing
Swissport's total cargo space to 7,000 square
meters at Vienna International.
The new air cargo facility, which is operated by Swissport, has direct airside access,
allowing shipments to be transported to and

from the aircraft
much faster than
before. Swissport is
one of only two air
cargo handlers at
Vienna International
Airport which can
provide a direct access to the airport apron.
"We are pleased to be able to offer our
clients even shorter transit times for their
shipments going through Vienna," said Willy
Ruf, senior vice president of Central Europe
at Swissport. "The opening of the new warehouse is another step to meet our strategic
goal of offering direct airside access at each
of the 15 airports at which we offer cargo services in Germany, Austria and Switzerland."

Flyers in Dubai

dnata opened a new airport lounge at Dubai
International Airport (DXB) to enhance young
flyers' travel experience. The newest dnata
facility has been designed and launched
exclusively for unaccompanied minors.
dnata employs more than 70 dedicated
agents who work closely with airline representatives to ensure unaccompanied minors
are in safe hands, reach departure gates on
time and receive priority boarding.
"We have earned the trust of thousands of
parents with our safe and reliable services for
unaccompanied minors over the past years.
We are delighted to add more value to our
offering and further enhance young passengers' travel experience by opening our new
lounge, which has been specifically designed
to meet the needs and taste of children of
all ages," Steve Allen, divisional senior vice
president, UAE Airport Operations, dnata,
said. "Our friendly team will make sure young
flyers spend a memorable time in our new
lounge and have a smooth and safe passage
through the airport."
