FROM THE CEO
Hello to all of you out there in the Ground Support Industry. Having fun in
2023 yet? Looks like there are very exciting things happening in the industry.
According to survey results in Ground Support Worldwide's February issue,
seems the top two business challenges are " Finding and retaining staff " and
" Acquiring and/or maintaining equipment " . Fortunately for us, we are in
rural Minnesota and have a large contingency of people who love working
in manufacturing. Whether welding a bead, running a harness, insulating
a tank, or installing a pump, we provide a substantial income with benefits.
So, challenge number one has not been a concern for us. As for number
two, well that's where Stinar can help all of you. I found out over the last few months that a large competitor of
ours has given all their loyalty to one large customer by giving the airline all their build slots for GSE. Of all the
years that I have been in business, I have always found it intriguing that very large corporations only like to do
business with other very large corporations. While smaller companies, like ours, support each other, help each
other out. Less drama, no headaches.
It's kind of like when all the non-profits in our small town go to the small businesses for help but are ignored by the
larger companies with a MUCH BIGGER charity fund. Seems big companies only give big dollars to get press while
small companies give what they can to support their community. I always tell everyone starting a business that we
all have the same issues no matter what we manufacture or sell. It's just a different number of zeros.
Enough of my social soapbox. Let's talk about your GSE needs and Stinar's ability to support you. As you now
know we are a small business in a rural area that actually cares about those around us and our customers. I have
always preferred to own the manufacturing floor. I like to be able to innovate and continuously improve even
inside a model year. Now this drives engineering and the plant floor crazy, but it gives us the ability to support
our customer's wants and needs. At Stinar we don't have a lot of option content because we continuously make
options standard on our equipment. Our customers appreciate the improvements and it helps us streamline
our production process. Of course it also makes us the value-added leader in an industry that does not get much
love. We have ordered ahead on OEM chassis to speed up lead times, and we have over a million dollars' worth
of parts on the shelf ready to support our manufacturing process and your maintenance team. We understand
the importance of receiving the right part quickly to keep your team and equipment up and running. We all know
what happens when you're not turning planes. Kind of like a bad snowstorm in the Midwest (too early? lol).
As a reminder Stinar has the longest warranty in the industry, we answer our phones and emails, we have
replacement parts on hand, and we CARE about our customers and their businesses. We have a few open build
slots in the 3rd and 4th quarter, give us a call!
