community affairs/public
information officer. She will

third-party vendors and key stakeholder partnerships. In
her previous role as manager of marketing and public information, she was responsible for leading the public and
crisis communication efforts for the organization during
the 2020 pandemic. She also directed the redesign and
implementation of The COMET Leadership Academy.

Sound Transit

Jonté Robinson has been appointed to be Sound Transit's
new chief diversity, equity
and inclusion officer. She has
been with Sound Transit since
Jonté Robinson
2015, most recently serving as
the acting chief diversity, equity
and inclusion officer. Prior to that, she helped establish
the agency's equal employment opportunity program,
led the Title VI program and served as deputy director
of civil rights. Key priorities for Robinson include leading
Sound Transit's anti-racist strategy focused on economic
development opportunities, career development, community partnerships and accountability. Prior to joining
Sound Transit, Robinson was the Title VI coordinator and
a human resource consultant with the Washington State
Department of Transportation.

Greater Richmond Transit
Company (GRTC)

GRTC has named Adrienne
Torres as the new chief development officer (CDO). She is
formerly the director of planning
Adrienne Torres
and scheduling. The CDO is a
newly created executive position
responsible for short- and long-term implementation of
GRTC service plans and projects. In addition to extensive
coordination with local, regional, state and federal partners, the CDO has expanded oversight internally of the
planning, scheduling, marketing and customer service
departments, and supports GRTC senior leadership.
Torres has been an essential member of the GRTC team
since 2014, contributing to landmark projects like the
Pulse and GRTC's network redesign, as well as advancing
GRTC's data collection and analysis efforts. Previously
serving as assistant director and later director of planning
and scheduling, Torres now joins the GRTC Executive
Leadership team, which includes the CEO, chief of staff
and CFAO. She earned her M.P.A. focused in Public Policy
Analysis and Evaluation.

TransLink

TRANSLINK HAS completed a project that installed 280
new customer information screens and 1,400 speakers.

TransLink completes
modernization of 1980s-era
SkyTrain technology
Aging speakers and signs have been replaced by
TransLink throughout the SkyTrain system by installing 280 new customer information screens and more
than 1,400 new speakers at Expo and Millennium Line
SkyTrain stations. These upgrades have modernized
communication on the SkyTrain system and improved
TransLink's ability to communicate with customers.
Expo and Millennium Line customers will notice real-time digital screens, better sound in stations and on
trains, and improved safety and security at stations.
These upgrades have been ongoing since 2018 as part
of the SkyTrain Customer Communications Upgrades
Program, and is a major milestone to deliver enhanced
customer experiences through the Customer Experience
Action Plan. This C$79-million (US$62.7-million) program is part of a larger C$92.4 million (US$73.3 million)
Rapid Transit Systems Rehabilitation and Maintenance
Project paid for under the Public Transit Infrastructure
Fund (PTIF), which is funded by the government of
Canada (50 percent), the government of British Columbia (33 percent) and TransLink (17 percent).
