THE REVIEW:
Q: How did the tool function as far
as saving you time?
A: This tool saves loads of time, giving
you your hands back to use freely, by being
the flashlight holder for you. Never again
will you have to say, " Here hold this light
for a minute. " This light kit allows you to
place a light anywhere you need it.
Q: How has using this tool impacted
your shop's profitability?
A: Time is money. Any time-saver is a
money saver. This tool saves time by keeping
all workspaces illuminated, especially
the tight spaces where you can't have
someone there to hold a light. It allows just
one person to perform the task.
Q: How was its packaging?
A: The worklight came in a very nice
storage case, although it's quite bulky and
takes up a lot of room. Personally, I don't
think I'll be ever putting the worklight
back into the case.
Q: Was there a manual included?
A: A small instructional booklet was
included. It explained the drooping of the
wand, how to set up the worklight, and
what to expect.
Q: What features did you like?
A: I really like that I can now have light
anywhere in addition to my normal flashlights
that I use. I like how the suction cup
sticks to my toolbox locker and that it has
been there for a few days
and hasn't fallen off. Its light bar is small
and stays out of the way that sometimes
you even forget it's there. Also, the batteries
are lightweight.
Q: What types of repairs did you use
this tool for?
A: I used this for a variety of repairs.
For major underhood work, I used both
lights. The suction cup light was on the
windshield and the other was clamped wherever
it's out of the way.
This product is especially handy when
you're doing brakes. You can clamp it to
anything solid and have plenty of light to
see what you're doing while performing
brake work.
I also used it for exhaust manifold
replacement. It's probably the best placed
light when drilling and tapping broken
exhaust manifold studs.
And it's useful when undercar too. It
allows you to keep a light on the transmission
while dropping pans and replacing
filters.
I also used it
for illuminating
timing marks
while performing
timing belt
replacement
on Subarus.
This is literally
the first tool I grab when performing any
repair on a vehicle.
Q: Is there any way you could think
to improve or add to this tool?
A: This tool could be improved by
having better holding power in the flexible
wand. It's nice but you are limited
to how far out you can stretch the wand
without it sagging. I'd also like to see a better
quality battery with an indicator and
no need to switch on to charge. Maybe a
charging dock, too.

The Mechanic's Worklight from Goose-Grip
Products is a patent-pending, handsfree LED worklight
that can be mounted almost anywhere. The worklight
is an engine bay light (via the windshield mount)
or an interior light (under dash work) and mounts to
any micro-smooth flat surface, including glass inside
or out. The vise-grip mount worklight can also be used
on chassis components under the vehicle while on a
lift. The light features-360 degree rotation and emits
up to 2,800 lm at 12 " from the desired target with
rechargeable batteries.
