What soft tissue laser would you recommend?

I'm sure it's a huge topic and I've searched through threads here. I'm just trying to get a synopsis
on where things stand today. I get a lot of ortho referrals for frenectomies and canine exposures and
am thinking about the marketing benefits of offering laser treatment with this, making it even more
palatable. I'm only looking to use it for these procedures so no PerioLase, Solea, etc. Just soft tissue. ■

My suggestion is to look at a diode laser. There are many good ones out there. I personally
use the Picasso Diode lasers from AMD Dentsply. I am the clinical director for them so please
keep that in mind, but if you do a search on here you will see many who also like their product.
One thing I have been doing is using Injex (needle-free anesthetic) for these procedures and it
seems to work well and I can do the procedures without using the dreaded needle. ■

Laser frenectomy with PerioLase Nd:YAG in conjunction
with LANAP. (A diode would also work.)

I was taught to also curette the gingival fibers down to the bone. Also to do a fiberotomy
interproximally. ■
