Tokuyama Dental America Launches
Corporate Social Responsibility Program
Tokuyama Dental America has announced the launch of Tokuyama Empowers, the company's
corporate social responsibility program to make dental care available to those in need. In cooperation with national and local associations, nonprofits, free clinics and volunteer dentists, Tokuyama
Dental America aims to remove the barriers to access treatment for uninsured and underserved
parts of the population, enabling them to receive the care they need to improve their health and
quality of life.
One of the first organizations Tokuyama Empowers is partnering with is the American
Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry Charitable Foundation's Give Back a Smile program. Give Back a
Smile provides free dental care to adult women and men who have suffered dental injuries from
domestic and sexual violence. By helping to restore their smiles, the program is healing some of
the most devastating effects of the violence these victims endured and is supporting them on
their road to recovery. Tokuyama Dental America has donated more than $86,000 worth of products to Give Back a Smile, including Estelite Omega, a polychromatic aesthetic composite system
designed for anterior restorations.

DMG Supports Arizona Clinic Serving Uninsured, Low-Income Children
DMG, a manufacturer of dental restorative materials and preventive products, has donated its
Icon Caries Infiltrant to the CARE Center Children's Medical and Dental Clinic in Chandler, Arizona. The
product blocks the progression of early stage caries with no need for drilling or anesthesia. The clinic
relies in part on product donations from dental manufacturers, particularly those whose products
facilitate the minimal invasiveness that is needed for younger, more vulnerable patients who are
apprehensive about having their teeth treated.
The CARE Center Children's Medical and Dental Clinic is a 501(c)3 organization that provides
no-cost dental care and treatment to uninsured, low-income children. Of the youth it serves, 51% live
in single-parent households and 60% come from homes with under $25,000 in annual income for a
family of four. A partnership between Chandler Unified School District, St. Vincent de Paul Dental Clinic
and Dignity Health Chandler Regional Medical Center, the clinic provides access to free dental services
five days a week for children in the Phoenix metro area. The support of dental product manufacturers
and other industry members enables the clinic to provide dental care to more than 1,000 Chandler
youth annually.

PDS Foundation Opens
Clinic for Patients with
Special Needs
The Pacific Dental Services
(PDS) Foundation, a 501(c)(3) charitable organization, recently opened
a new clinic, Pacific Dental Services
Foundation Dentists for Special Needs.
This new clinic opened its doors March
25 to provide high-quality dentistry to
pediatric and adult patients with special
needs. Among the clinic's leadership
is Jack Dillenberg, DDS, who will serve
as the clinical director, and Jacob Dent,
DDS, who has been practicing dentistry
for more than 15 years. Dent is also the
parent of a child with special needs.
Not only will the clinicians at the
not-for-profit PDS Foundation Dentists
for Special Needs clinic provide dental
care for patients with special needs,
they will also help patients and their
caregivers make proper oral health
achievable between visits. Located
in Phoenix, Arizona, the clinic has
specially trained dentists and team
members equipped with behavioral
and environmental techniques to
ensure a successful visit. The clinic will
offer patients modern technology and
integrated specialties. The full range
of services offered include emergency
care, crowns, fillings, hygiene, implants,
root canals and oral surgery. Dent says
that the sensory-friendly office will
provide patients with a relaxing environment, and the dental team will provide
comprehensive care that focuses on
each patient's individual needs.
