message board Here you go, Koala and Brian. Took this series of photos and videos to show how to deliver it through buccal without much disruption of lingual tissue after sectioning it four ways. Hope this helps you visualize and implement it in your practice. ■ 1/26/2022 gxm321 Member Since: 05/11/03 Post: 26 of 28 DDS'06, good documentation and very helpful for a newbie. I thank you for them. Koala, 99.9% of the time the third molar is not to the lingual. I have removed many and can only remember one where the occlusal of the tooth was tipped to the lingual. The pictures from DDS'06 show " textbook " incisions. There is no need to elevate the lingual fl ap. Our approach is from the buccal. When we need to remove bone, it is buccal bone. When we want to make an opening to deliver the tooth (or pieces), it is to the buccal-sometimes a little occlusal, but still, no reason to like a lingual fl ap. I wish for your sake that whoever had never said that to you. I know how words from our instructors can echo in our minds many years later. This is one you should try to forget. ■ 1/28/2022 Share your oral surgery techniques-or learn a new one!
