message board Best Financial Decision You Have Ever Made? A classic thread gets revived with an important COVID-related entry Since it is the time of year that a lot of us tend to think about goals, financial and otherwise, I thought this question might help us out as a group: What is the best financial decision you have ever made-the one that will have the biggest impact? Personally, I think setting a monthly amount that we can spend as a family that both me and my spouse can live with seems to have not only helped us to save more but also has lessened the financial strain in making decisions. Best ROI ever! ■ 12/22/2020 By orders of magnitude the best financial decision I ever made was to have a financial plan. Everything flows from that. The key to financial success is to consistently save a lot of money. Having a financial plan really pounds that into your head, and helps you stay on track when that shiny object is reaching out to seduce you. ■ Member Since: 03/30/03 Post: 128 of 150 bob koenitzer Member Since: 04/03/02 Post: 137 of 150 1/1/2021 Find more great advice online!
