I’ve used it forever for 3x3s and it never fails. It barely flows but just enough. n MAR 20 2013 We’ve had very good success with an inexpensive product from GAC called Ideal Adhesive. Since it is meant to be used for brackets and I want it to be more “flowable,” I have the staff mix it with a drop of sealant and place it in a centrix syringe tip. We can do about 2.5 lingual arches (12-18) teeth with each tip. We store it in the dark, of course, between uses. Very few bond failures considering the many hundreds out there but I have noticed it wears away in some cases after three to five years. I just add to it from time to time if the patient returns and it no longer covers the twisted .0195 wire. n MAR 20 2013 Str8edge Member Since: 07/17/11 Post: 5 of 17 I have the same issue with the Invisalign attachment material that I really like. It’s not “flowy” enough – so we make a ‘double boiler” out of a coffee mug filled with hot water from the Insta-hot and a small cup that sits inside the hot water, put composite tips inside the inner cup and it warms up and flows much better. I think they have composite warmers out there as well, but this is so quick and easy that we never looked into it. The issue I see with “diluting” the composite with unfilled resin (which I used to do) is that you are weakening the structural integrity of the material. n MAR 20 2013 bracketdude Member Since: 02/15/09 Post: 6 of 17 drgscott Member Since: 03/09/09 Post: 7 of 17 Transbond LR is very nice for this. It is perfect for lingual retainers. I used to use FlowTain, but LR has superior handling. Give it a try, and you won’t regret it. n MAR 20 2013 Thanks for all the suggestions. I will get some Transbond LR. I only bond the cuspids and I found the Flow-Tain would get thin after a few years and occasionally break.
