New Satellite Office Design 1,800 Sq. Ft. Search: Office Design Designing First Office – See PDF Search: Designing I am designing a new office and would like some feedback. A couple of details: 1. This is a 2,600 square-foot space. 2. The area to the lower left is slated to be a kid’s area with a couple CPUs for patients to use, probably no video games. I will have Wi-Fi for patients in the waiting room so I don’t think games are as essential as they used to be. 3. The area next to the staff bath in the middle of the space will be a workstation with a CPU where I will be able to view the bay, have conversations with parents before they check out, etc. Therefore the private office in the back will be more of a place to eat lunch and get away as opposed to a working area. 4. The black dots near the central island are columns that will be replacing a load-bearing wall and can’t be moved. 5. The door located at the back, right side of the drawing will be used as a back entrance for staff, as it is an exterior door that leads directly into the parking lot. I know there are some flaws like: 1. The bathroom is across from the reception. I can’t figure out a different place for it without moving it far from the waiting area. 2. The sterilization is open to the bay. I am OK with this. 3. The lab is close to the bay so sound could be an issue. This will hopefully be curbed by the door and the model trimmer will be as far from the door as possible. Please let me know if you have any constructive thoughts. Are there any existing walls, or is this an empty shell right now? n FEB 5 2012 dhmjdds Member Since: 11/16/04 Post: 3 of 21 Seems like there is a lot of wasted space in this plan. Is the front door in the only location it can be? Those chairs near it are silly; no one would ever sit there. That’s a huge reception area, but the layout makes it awfully hard to use the space in any sensible way. Same thing with the back area, huge! But that hallway is totally wasted and unnecessary. The staff bathroom should be in the staff area, not all the way across the office (when you have this much space to work with). The position of the patient bathroom is fine. What is the room that abuts the patient bathroom? It is unmarked.
