Rose Yi, ARM is a TRAC
Associate - Space Projects at
Marsh JLT Specialty, a global
leader in insurance broking and
risk management. Rose was an
FBLA member at Veterans Tribute
Career and Technical Academy
(VTCTA) in Nevada. Her leadership
roles included 2011-2012 Chapter
President - Veterans Tribute Career
and Technical Academy, 2012-2013 State Vice President
of Public Relations - NV, and FBLA 2013-2014 State
President - NV FBLA.
Joanna Yi, from the forever
shining city of Las Vegas, attends Ed
W. Clark High School. She proudly
served as the 2019-2020 Southern
Region Vice President and is the
current State President of NV FBLA.
She has been the treasurer for her
local FBLA chapter and a manager
and captain on the tennis team. An
active FBLA members, she holds
national recognition by placing 1st place in E-business in
her freshman year, 1st place in Website Design and 3rd
place in Global Business in her sophomore year. Joanna has
also achieved the Future level of the Business Achievement
Awards and the Community level for the Community
Service Awards.

business world.
Joanna Yi - How important is

networking in the workforce and what
benefits does it have?
Rose Yi - Networking covers a wide range of
events especially when you progress throughout
your career and can benefit you in many ways.
Altogether, networking is as important as you'd like
it to be and varies on industry.
Through high school and my undergraduate
career, I wasn't sure what I wanted to do with my
life (and that's okay!). I went from forensic scientist
to economist to global finance to insurance broker.
During my undergraduate career, I interned six
separate occasions and I would say the majority
of those were 'click and apply' cases. I networked
a lot during my internships, and learned quickly
about all the careers I didn't want to do. During my
junior year, I spoke with my manager regarding
my internship and let her know what my thoughts
were on my career after I graduated. From there,
she really helped me network and helped set up
several coffee chats with colleagues across the
company and that is how I ended up in the role
I am in now. I'm glad that the industry I am in is
something that I certainly want to stay in, but
networking took a huge turn.
Aviation and Space are fairly niche insurance
markets, so I do my best to build a network
and relationship with my clients, markets,
and colleagues.
