Turning the double play An indoor drill to help strengthen team defense By Pat Higgins, contributing writer This is a team defensive drill that accentuates a middle infielder's footwork for the double-play pivot while improving proper baserunning. The drill began as a baserunning contest that stressed cutting the inside corner of the bases, and it also worked conditioning.
