COLLIERVILLE HIGH SCHOOL BUILDS NEW FACILITIES By Coach & Athletic Director Construction of the new Collierville (Tennessee) High School provided Athletic Director Jeff Curtis with a rare opportunity to bolster its facilities in a way studentathletes had never imagined. And one of the perks was the addition of new videoboards that would reinvent the fan experience. Collierville opened the doors to its new school in 2018, part of a $115 million project that allocated nearly $20 million to athletics. Among Curtis' priorities was improving the scoreboards at the school's various venues, and he did so with the support of four videoboards from Daktronics. The school also installed new scoreboards in its gymnasiums and at its soccer field. Project takeaway: Advice for athletic directors " It's all about building relationships. It's a dog-eatdog world out there with sales, and we knew right away that we were dealing with genuine people that were trying to help us any way they could. Build those relationships to get the best products for your school. " - Jeff Curtis, athletic director 44 JULY/AUGUST 2019 Choose #126 online
